Cones for one large square

Set up

  • Cone a large safe square.
  • Children move freely inside, coach on the edge.

Play

  1. 1GO — move around the square.
  2. 2SLOW — slow it right down.
  3. 3STOP / PAWS — freeze under control.
  4. 4TURN — change direction.
  5. 5ROUNDABOUT — spin once, then go.

Say

  • “Eyes up!”
  • “Find the space!”
  • “Stop under control!”

Level up

Children carry a rugby ball while responding to the calls.

Make the square bigger, or split into two zones with the teacher.

Safety

No sprinting — stop under control.
